What to expect?
Both Turkiye and The Netherlands have specific elements when it comes to a wedding. And no, we will not drive in our cars and horn all night.

In The Netherlands it is custom that family and close friends give a speech. We first have dinner and then taking our chance on the dance floor. In Turkiye, we dance during the dinner, the bride and groom walk around the tables to accept gifts and have photos taken.

There are some rituals we would love to include.
Speeches
Halay

The last one needs an explanation. Halay is a Turkish dance that is performed by a group. You hold each other by the pinky (yes pinky and not entire hand). You dance in circles. Your feet do the following: right, left right, kick right, kick left. Here you find a video for dummies. We suggest that you practice before the wedding so that you dont become the weakest link in the group :)

During the after party there will be some Dutch raving, so please bring your sneakers with you. There might be a Happy (Hardcore) hour. For non-Dutch people, that means this. And again practice practice practice :)
